Easy Restaurant Style Chicken Pulao Recipe | Video

Chicken pulao

Chicken Pulao is actually Indian Style pilaf that is mouth watering, super quick, savoury and easy to make. Pulao is a delicious dish that is made by basmati rice, chicken stock, spices and different herbs. There are various types of pulao i.e. Mutton Pulao, Chicken Pulao, Matar Pulao, Coconut Pulao or Kashmiri Pulao. I personally love Chicken Pulao. It hardly takes 45 minutes to make. This dish can be served to 4 to 5 people.

Ingredients Required

  • 3 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1 kg Chicken
  • Olive Oil as Required
  • Salt as Required
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoon Black pepper
  • 1 tea spoon Chinese salt
  • Half Teaspoon Strand Mace
  • Half Teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 2 onions medium sized
  • 2 tomatoes medium sized
  • 3 long Green chilies
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 3 Cloves of Laung
  • 3 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 Piece Nut Meg
  • 2 Big Green Cardamoms
  • 3 pieces of Tamarind
  • Half cup Yogurt
  • 4 glasses of Water

Preparation for Pulao Rice

Add 4 cups of Basmati Long Rice in a bowl. Wash it with clean water until the rice water runs clear. Soak the rice for half an hour at least. Drain the water. Put the rice aside.

Directions for Pulao

Heat Olive Oil in a cookware or a pan. Take the onions and cut it into rings. Add the onion rings in it. Stir fry it until it turns golden. Add the ginger and garlic paste in it. Let it fry. Mix it well. Add the chicken pieces in it. Stir fry the Chicken. Add the chopped green chilies and tomato cubes in it. Mix it for 2 to 4 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients i.e. Salt, Tamarind, Green Cardamoms, Nut Meg, inch Cinnamon, Laung, Bay leaves, Cumin powder, Strand Mace, Black pepper in it. Mix it well for 10 to 15 minutes. Now add the yogurt in it. Mix it well. Now add 4 glasses of water in it. Let the chicken stock boil for 10 minutes on a high flame. When 2 glasses of chicken stock is left, add the Basmati Rice in it. Let it boil on a medium flame. When the rice is properly cooked, add Chinese salt in it. Cover the lid of the pan with some clothes. Let the rice cook on a low flame for 10 minutes.

Voila Restaurant Style Chicken Pulao is ready to serve. You can serve Chicken Pulao with Green Vegetable Salad and Mint Chutney.
